About Handwritium

Let’s skip the part where I tell you I’m doing this out of the kindness of my heart. I’m not.

Handwritium is a personal project. It’s a website where I put publicly available books, data, and audio files. They are free to read, free to listen to, and I don’t use invasive ads.

Why? Because I find the modern internet, with its constant tracking, blinking banners, and data-harvesting, annoying. I built this because I wanted a cleaner version for myself, and I figured I might as well host it for everyone else while I’m at it.

The “Mission” (If You Can Call It That)

There is no grand vision here. I just like things to be organized and technically sound.

• No Ads: Not because I’m a saint, but because they look like garbage and slow down my site.

• Privacy: I’ve gone to the trouble of coding the site to respect “Do Not Track” signals. This is mostly because I enjoy the technical challenge of building a “clean” platform and I don’t care about your data anyway.

• Content: Most of what you see here is grabbed from places like Project Gutenberg or LibriVox. I format it, clean it up, and stick it here so it’s easier to find.

The Bottom Line

I’m not trying to change the world. I’m a guy with a server. If you like the books, great. If you don’t, that’s fine too. I’m going to keep building it anyway because I like how it looks when it’s finished.
