Is Handwritium really free?

Yes. All the books, data, and audio files on this site are free to access. We focus on public domain materials that belong to everyone.

Why are there no ads?

I hate invasive ads as much as you do. Handwritium is designed to be a clean, quiet place for reading. I fund this project myself to keep the experience “pure” and privacy-focused.

I found a mistake in a book. What should I do?

Because many of our books are sourced from historical archives, occasional OCR (optical character recognition) errors happen. If you find a glaring error, please email the URL and a description of the error to the support email above.

Can I request a specific book?

Absolutely. If there is a public domain work you’d like to see formatted and added to the library, send me a request! I can’t promise every book, but I love adding new titles that the community wants.
